Privacy Policy

The short version

• Stored only on your device. Your portfolio is saved on the device you use TrackQ on, and nowhere else.
• No servers, no sign-up, no tracking in the app. There is no TrackQ account and the app has no analytics. Nothing passes through us.
• Read-only. The app reads balances, holdings and activity. It cannot place trades, move money or change anything.
• Your password stays with Questrade. You never type it into TrackQ. The app uses a key you create, and you can switch it off any time.

What the app reads

With the key you give it, TrackQ reads your Questrade accounts, balances, positions, activities, executions and the details of the symbols you hold. It makes these requests directly from your device to Questrade. It talks to no other server.

Where it is kept

What the app reads is saved in the app's own storage on your device, so it can show your portfolio offline and build your value history. Your key is kept in the iOS Keychain, set to this device only, readable after the device has been unlocked once. The widgets read the same data on the same device.

Like all app data, the portfolio data is part of your device's encrypted backup. The key is not carried to a different device.

What we collect

Nothing. TrackQ contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party SDKs. We have no server that receives your data. The app keeps a log on your device of what it did, for troubleshooting; it never records your key, and it stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

This website

trackq.ca uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links people use, such as the Questrade referral link. Google sets cookies to do this and handles the data under its own privacy policy. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or Google's opt-out add-on. None of this is in the app.

Questrade and Apple

Questrade handles your requests under its own privacy policy. Apple may collect information about your download and use of apps under its own terms. TrackQ is an independent app and is not made by or affiliated with Questrade.

Your control

• Disconnect or clear downloaded data in Settings. Delete everything removes your key and your saved portfolio.
• Revoke the key in Questrade's App Hub, and the app can no longer read anything.
• Deleting the app removes its saved data. iOS can keep a Keychain item after an app is deleted, so TrackQ erases any key it finds the next time it is installed. Revoke the key in App Hub too if you are done with it.

Getting in touch

If you email support@trackq.ca or post in the TrackQ Discord, we see what you send us there, and use it only to answer you. Please never send your Questrade key.

Changes

If what the app does with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
