I'm Hemant Kumar, a software engineer and the developer of TrackQ. I also write the guides on this site.

## Why TrackQ exists

I built TrackQ to keep an eye on my own Questrade portfolio. I wanted one number for every account, my gain on what I paid, and the dividends coming in, on my Home Screen. I didn't want my brokerage data sitting on someone else's server to get it.

So TrackQ talks straight to Questrade from your iPhone or iPad, with a token you make in Questrade's App Hub, and keeps what it reads on your device. There is no TrackQ server and no account to make, and the app is read-only.

## Independent

TrackQ is an independent app. It is not made by or affiliated with Questrade; it uses the API Questrade offers its clients for personal apps. The [Questrade referral code](/questrade-referral-code/) on this site is my own, and using it gives us both $50.

## Where to find me

I write about self-hosting, software and hardware projects at [TerminalBytes](https://terminalbytes.com/about/). I also make [SoundLeaf](https://soundleafapp.com), an iOS app for Audiobookshelf. My personal profiles are [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/hemant6488) and [GitHub](https://github.com/hemant6488).
